Custom jackets are the one piece of workwear your team wears outside, in front of customers, every day from October to April. That makes them the most visible place to put your logo. CentralCustom supplies and decorates branded jackets across the UK — softshells, waterproofs, padded jackets, fleeces, bombers and hi-vis — embroidered or printed with your logo, from a single jacket for a sole trader to a full rollout for a multi-site team.
Quick answer: A custom jacket is a stock workwear or leisure jacket decorated with your logo by embroidery or heat-applied print. Most UK businesses choose embroidery on the left chest (around 9–10cm wide) and add a large print or embroidered back logo for visibility. Expect a one-off logo setup charge, low minimum orders, and around 7–10 working days from artwork approval.
Which jacket is right for your team?
Picking the jacket matters more than picking the decoration. Match the jacket to the work, not the catalogue photo.
- Softshell jackets — wind-resistant, showerproof and stretchy. The default for office-to-site staff, estate agents, sales teams and coaches. See our custom softshell jackets.
- Waterproof and rain jackets — taped seams and a hood for teams who stand outside all day: groundworkers, delivery drivers, landscapers, event stewards.
- Padded and insulated jackets — for cold, static jobs such as warehouse loading bays, markets, car parks and security.
- Fleece jackets — a warm, cheap, easy-to-embroider mid-layer that works on its own indoors. See embroidered fleeces.
- Bomber, coach and varsity jackets — for brands, bars, clubs, societies and crews who want something that looks like fashion, not uniform.
- Hi-vis jackets — where EN ISO 20471 visibility is required on site or roadside. See custom hi-vis workwear.
Embroidery or print on a jacket?
Embroidery is the standard for left-chest logos: it looks premium, survives hundreds of washes and does not crack. Print (DTF or vinyl) is better for big back logos, fine detail and photographic artwork, and it keeps the weight of a large design down.
There is one honest trade-off you should know about: embroidering a fully waterproof jacket puts needle holes through the membrane. On a true waterproof we either embroider only the outer layer through an access zip, or recommend a heat-applied print instead so the jacket stays waterproof. Softshells, fleeces and padded jackets embroider well without that issue.

Custom jackets FAQ
What is the minimum order for custom jackets?
Low. We can embroider a single jacket, although the logo setup (digitising) charge is a one-off cost, so the price per jacket drops as quantity rises. Once your logo is on file, reorders carry no setup charge.
How much does a custom jacket cost?
The price is the jacket plus decoration. A fleece or entry softshell sits at the lower end; a branded waterproof or padded jacket costs more. Embroidery is priced on stitch count, so a simple text logo costs less than a dense crest. Ask for a quote and we will price two or three jacket options side by side.
Where should the logo go?
Left chest for every jacket, back for anyone working with the public or on site, and the sleeve or right chest for names or a secondary logo. Avoid pockets and seams.
How long does it take?
Typically around 7–10 working days after you approve your proof, depending on stock and quantity. Order winter jackets by early November if you need them before Christmas.
Can I have different sizes and names in one order?
Yes. Mixed sizes are normal, and personalised names can be added per garment.
