Branded workwear for Cardiff and South Wales
CentralCustom is a division of Centralsports, a South Wales business with more than 40 years of experience kitting out schools, clubs and companies. We decorate garments in-house, which means the embroidery and printing on your workwear is not sent out to a third party and then blamed on them when it goes wrong.
Most Cardiff firms looking for workwear fall into one of two camps: they want plain safety clothing off the shelf, or they want their own name on it. We are firmly the second. If you need a single hi-vis vest today, a local supplier will serve you better. If you want twelve polo shirts with your logo on the chest that still look right in eighteen months, that is the job we do.
What we supply
- Embroidered polo shirts and t-shirts — the everyday uniform for most trades, hospitality and office teams.
- Hi-vis workwear — vests, polos, jackets and coveralls. Our guide to hi-vis classes 1, 2 and 3 explains which class your site actually requires.
- Fleeces, softshells and gilets — the layer that gets worn most of the year in Wales.
- Work trousers, shorts and hoodies — hard-wearing kit for trades and outdoor crews.
- Hospitality and front-of-house uniforms — aprons, chef whites and branded shirts for Cardiff pubs, cafes and hotels.
- Schoolwear, teamwear and leavers hoodies — for South Wales schools, colleges and clubs.
You can see the full range on our branded workwear and corporate uniforms page, browse custom hi-vis workwear, or start from a ready-priced workwear bundle if you are kitting out new starters.
Who we work with
Trades and construction firms across Cardiff, Newport and the Valleys. Independent cafes, pubs and hotels in the city centre and the Bay. Cleaning, landscaping, motor and logistics businesses that need staff identifiable on a customer site. Schools, sports clubs and charities running one-off orders. Sole traders who want to look like a company rather than a bloke with a van — and who are often surprised that no minimum order genuinely means no minimum order.
Areas we cover
Cardiff and the surrounding area including Canton, Cathays, Roath, Llanishen, Whitchurch, Penarth, Barry, Caerphilly, Newport, Bridgend, Pontypridd, Merthyr Tydfil and Swansea. Orders are handled by email and delivered across the UK, so you are not tied to opening hours or a trip across the city to approve artwork.
How ordering works
- Tell us what you need. Garment, rough quantity, sizes if you have them, and your deadline.
- Send your logo. A vector file is ideal. Our guide on preparing your logo for embroidery and printing explains what to send so nothing bounces back.
- Approve a free digital proof. You see exactly where the logo sits and how big it is before anything is stitched or printed.
- Production and delivery. Typically 7–14 working days from proof approval.
Your logo setup is kept on file, so reorders and new starters are quick and you are not paying to digitise the same logo twice. If you are kitting out a crew from scratch, our guide to kitting out a trade crew in branded workwear works through quantities and budget.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the best place to buy workwear in Cardiff?
It depends on what you need. For plain safety clothing bought over the counter today, a local workwear shop is the right answer. For branded workwear — your logo embroidered or printed on it — you want a decorator rather than a retailer, because the quality of the badging is what people actually notice. That is what we do.
Where can I find safety clothing in Cardiff?
We supply hi-vis to EN ISO 20471 classes 1, 2 and 3, plus the polos, jackets and coveralls that go with them. If you are not sure which class your site requires, tell us the work and the road or rail environment and we will point you at the right one. We do not supply PPE such as helmets, gloves or safety footwear.
Which workwear brand is best?
There is no single best brand, only the right weight and fit for the work. Lightweight polos suit indoor and customer-facing roles; heavier polycotton and softshells suit outdoor crews. We stock recognised workwear brands and will recommend based on how the garment gets used and washed, not on what carries the biggest margin.
Is there a minimum order?
No. Larger quantities bring the unit price down, but there is no minimum, so a two-person business is not shut out.
How long does it take?
Typically 7–14 working days from the point you approve your digital proof. Tell us your deadline up front and we will give you an honest answer on whether it is achievable before you commit.
Can you match our brand colours?
Yes. Embroidery threads and print colours are matched as closely as the process allows, and the digital proof shows you the result before production. We will tell you if a colour will not reproduce well in stitch rather than let you find out on delivery.
