Custom embroidered hoodies do the job printed ones cannot. The stitching survives the wash, the garment reads as kit rather than merchandise, and people keep wearing it long after the season it was bought for. We stitch logos, club crests, names and initials onto hoodies, zip hoodies and sweatshirts for businesses, clubs, schools and societies across the UK.

Quick answer

Custom embroidered hoodies are hooded sweatshirts with your logo, text or crest stitched into the fabric rather than printed on top of it. At CentralCustom there is no minimum order — one hoodie or two hundred. You send your logo, we send a free digital proof, and once you approve it your order is typically dispatched within 7–14 working days. Quotes come back within one working day. Embroidery costs more than print on very small runs, but it does not crack, peel or fade, which is why it is the standard choice for workwear and club kit.

What we embroider

  • Pullover hoodies — the default for clubs, societies and staff kit.
  • Zip and full-zip hoodies — better for coaches, event staff and anyone layering over a polo.
  • Sweatshirts and crew necks — a smarter look for offices and schools, and they sit better under a jacket.
  • Heavyweight and cotton-rich options — heavier fabrics hold a dense stitch better and distort less.

Not sure which weight to specify? Our guide to hoodie fabrics and GSM explains what the numbers actually mean once the garment is on a person.

Why choose CentralCustom

  • No minimum order. Most embroidery suppliers want 10, 25 or 50 pieces. We do not.
  • A free digital proof before anything is stitched. You see the size, the position and the thread colours, and you sign them off.
  • Your logo setup is kept on file. Reorder next year and it goes straight into production — you do not pay to digitise the same logo twice.
  • A quote within one working day, with an honest view on whether your deadline is realistic.
  • A working embroidery unit, not a design-it-yourself web form. If your artwork will not stitch well, we tell you before you order rather than after.

Who embroidered hoodies suit

  • Businesses and trades. A left-chest logo on a hoodie is the most-worn piece of branded workwear most companies buy. It pairs with embroidered polo shirts and branded fleeces as a full staff kit.
  • Sports clubs. Crest on the chest, initials on the sleeve, sponsor on the back. Embroidery survives a season of kit bags and hot washes in a way vinyl does not.
  • Schools and departments. Staff hoodies, sixth-form kit, trip and tour hoodies. If you are ordering for a whole year group, our leavers hoodies range is the better starting point.
  • University societies and committees. Names or roles on the back, society crest on the front — see our guide to running a society hoodie order.
  • Individuals and gifts. One embroidered hoodie is a perfectly normal order here.

Embroidery or print on a hoodie?

Embroidery wins on durability, on anything worn for work, and on small logos. Print wins on large, photographic or many-coloured designs, and on very large runs where cost per unit matters most. A common answer is both: an embroidered logo on the chest and a printed design across the back. Our garment-by-garment guide to embroidery versus print covers where each one wins, and our printing service handles the print side.

Where we are, and who we cover

We embroider in-house at Clubsport Promotions, Kington, Herefordshire — on the Welsh border, and within easy reach of Powys, Shropshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. We are open Monday to Friday 9:00–17:30 and Saturday 9:00–13:00. We ship nationwide, so being local is a convenience rather than a requirement and most of our customers never visit. See our full embroidery service for the wider range of garments we stitch.

How ordering works

  1. Tell us what you need — quantity, rough sizes, deadline, and what goes where on the garment.
  2. Send your logo. A vector file is ideal. Our logo preparation guide explains what to send and why.
  3. We digitise and proof. Your logo is converted into a stitch file and you get a free digital proof to approve.
  4. Production. Typically 7–14 working days from proof approval.
  5. Reorders. Your setup stays on file, so the next batch is faster and cheaper.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a custom embroidered hoodie cost?

It depends on quantity, the garment you choose, and the stitch count of your design — a simple wordmark costs less to stitch than a detailed crest. There is a one-off digitising charge the first time we set up a logo, then nothing on reorders. Our embroidery pricing guide explains the cost drivers in full, and a quote takes us one working day.

Is there a minimum order for embroidered hoodies?

No. One is fine. Larger quantities bring the unit price down, but nothing is gatekept behind a minimum.

Can I have names on the hoodies as well as a logo?

Yes — names, nicknames, initials, numbers or roles. Send them in a spreadsheet with the spellings checked, because names are the single most common cause of a delayed order.

How long does embroidery take?

Typically 7–14 working days from the moment you approve your proof. Artwork and proofing happen before that, so allow a little longer end to end. If you have a fixed date, tell us at quote stage and we will say plainly whether it is achievable.

Do you offer same-day or next-day embroidered hoodies?

No. Every order is digitised and proofed before it is stitched, and we would rather say so than promise a date we cannot hit. If you need garments in days rather than weeks, tell us and we will give you an honest answer about whether to look elsewhere.

Will the embroidery survive washing?

Yes — that is the main reason to choose it. Wash inside out at 30°C and the stitching will outlast the hoodie. Our washing guide for embroidered and printed workwear has the detail.

Can I see the design before you make it?

Always. Nothing goes into production without a digital proof you have approved.
