Quick answer

Personalised beanie hats are knitted winter hats decorated with your logo, club crest or team name — almost always by embroidery, because it survives washing and looks right on knitwear. At CentralCustom we embroider beanies for workplaces, sports clubs, schools and events, with no minimum order, a free digital proof before anything is stitched, and dispatch typically 7–14 working days after you approve that proof. Send us a logo and we will come back with a price within one working day.

Why choose CentralCustom for embroidered beanies

  • No minimum order. Two beanies for a new starter or 200 for a stadium — same process, same proof.
  • A free digital proof every time. You see exactly how the embroidery sits on the cuff before we stitch a single hat.
  • Your logo is kept on file. Reorders in January do not mean re-doing setup, and the stitching matches the batch you ordered in October.
  • We stitch your logo in the UK. Decoration is done in-house, so we control the quality and the timeline rather than chasing a third party.
  • 40+ years behind us. CentralCustom is a division of Central Sports, which has been kitting out UK clubs, schools and businesses since the 1980s.

Who orders personalised beanies

  • Trades and outdoor teams — groundworkers, scaffolders, landscapers, agricultural and highways crews who are outside from October to March.
  • Sports clubs — rugby, football and hockey clubs kitting out coaches, volunteers and supporters for the winter fixture list.
  • Schools and colleges — ski trips, DofE groups, outdoor education staff and sixth-form leavers wanting something warmer than a hoodie.
  • Events and hospitality — Christmas markets, car parks, festivals and stewarding teams who need staff to be warm and identifiable.
  • Charities and fundraisers — a branded beanie is a warmer, longer-lived alternative to a one-day T-shirt.

Which beanie style should you choose?

  • Cuffed / turn-up — the doubled cuff is the natural home for embroidery and the most popular choice by a distance.
  • Pull-on (no fold) — a closer, more modern fit; the logo sits on the front panel, so leave a little more room around the stitch area.
  • Bobble / pom-pom — reads as supporter merchandise rather than uniform.
  • Fleece-lined / thermal — for genuinely cold outdoor work; warmer next to the head and blocks wind, and the lining does not affect embroidery on the cuff.
  • Hi-vis beanie — for dark mornings on site; pairs with your hi-vis layers so the whole person is visible, not just the torso.

Not sure? Tell us where the hats are going to be worn and we will suggest a style — that advice is free and there is no obligation to order.

Embroidery, woven labels or print?

On knitwear, embroidery is almost always the right answer. The stitch sits into the knit, it will not crack or peel, and it survives a winter of washing. A woven label sewn to the cuff is a good alternative for fine-knit beanies or for a small, understated mark. Printing is rarely suitable on a stretchy, textured knit — it tends to crack along the rib.

One practical point: beanies stretch, so very fine detail and thin lettering can distort. If your logo has small text we will usually recommend simplifying it for this one garment, and we will show you exactly what it looks like on the proof first. Our guide to embroidery on tricky garments goes into more detail on knitwear, caps and waterproofs.

How ordering works

  1. Send us your logo and rough numbers. Any file you have — we will tell you if we need a better one.
  2. We quote within one working day.
  3. We send a free digital proof. Nothing is stitched until you say yes.
  4. We produce and dispatch, typically 7–14 working days after proof approval.
  5. We keep your setup on file for the next reorder.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I get personalised beanie hats?

From CentralCustom — we embroider beanies to order for UK workplaces, clubs, schools and events, with no minimum order and a free digital proof before production. Email promo@centralcustom.co.uk or use our contact page and we will quote within one working day.

How can I create a custom beanie hat?

Choose a beanie style (cuffed is the safest bet for a logo), send us your artwork, and we will return a digital proof showing your logo stitched in position and at size. You approve it, we produce it. You do not need print-ready files to start the conversation.

How much do custom beanies cost?

It depends on the beanie you choose, the stitch count of your logo and how many you order — unit price falls as quantity rises. Because there is no minimum order, small runs are possible; they simply cost more per hat. Send us a logo and a quantity and you will have a real figure within one working day rather than a guessed range.

What do British people call a beanie?

Most people in the UK now say "beanie", but you will still hear woolly hat and bobble hat (for the pom-pom version) used interchangeably. If you are searching for "custom woolly hats", you are looking for the same product.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. We will embroider a single beanie if that is what you need.

Can you match our club or brand colours?

We match thread to your brand colours as closely as the available thread range allows, and the proof shows you the match before production. Beanie shells come in a fixed range of stock colours, so we will tell you honestly if the closest shell is a shade off rather than letting you find out on delivery.
